Your website needs to look good and work on tablets and smartphones, as well as desktops. If your website is designed as a responsive (responding to device size) site, then it will look good on many device sizes.

On Devices Small & Large
People hold both a phone and a tablet in one hand and often use a thumb to navigate the phone, but the entire hand to navigate the tablet. People use trackpads, mice and keyboards to navigate on a desktop. All these ways to input data affect your site’s navigation, calls to action and other aspects of design.
Usability means more than just looking good on various devices. User interaction should be considered thoughtfully during the design and should use the following guidelines:
- Most important content is no more than one click away
- Site is available and fast
- Buttons are easy to click
- Text is easy to read
- Making the site accessible for disabled people generally makes it more usable for everyone
